FifthWall Launches Gifted Cybersecurity Insurance Program in response to Increased Cybercrime Onset By COVID-19

PITTSBURGH – June 11, 2020 – The last several months have been challenging for businesses all over the country. With millions of people forced to stay home in efforts to help stop the spread of COVID-19, many have transformed their homes into workplaces. Amidst this transformation comes expanded reliability on the internet, and with it, an increased rise in cybercrime. In response, FifthWall, a team of cybersecurity professionals protecting organizations from cybersecurity threats, launched a buy-one, gift-one campaign, offering a gifted Cyber Peace of Mind Insurance Policy for just $1.00. Through July 4th, every business that purchases a standard priced $250.00 cyber insurance policy can choose a business in need that FifthWall will ‘gift’ an additional policy to for only $1.00.

As part of the initiative, FifthWall teamed up with Pineapple Payments, a payments technology company serving more than 25,000 small and mid-size businesses nationwide. Inspired by FifthWall’s efforts, Pineapple will spotlight the campaign, increasing exposure, and helping to make sure that every merchant impacted by cybercrime has a fighting chance.

“Everything from the way we work to the way we are educated is changing during the pandemic. I’ve seen an influx of organizations that are trying to help by offering donations of food and clothing or offering free video conferencing and internet access,” said Doug Wright, CEO, FifthWall. “Seeing the hardships of COVID-19 compounded by an increase in cybercrime inspired FifthWall to do more”.

With safety and security as a constant priority, Pineapple Payments understands the impact small businesses could face as a result of cyber threats focused on the increased use of electronic transactions.

“Merchants today are already facing hardship. With states across the country starting to reopen, the last thing any merchant needs is to suffer a cyber event just as they are trying to get back on their feet,” said Brian Shanahan, CEO, Pineapple Payments. “While we cannot solve the prolonged financial hardship for the businesses impacted most by the pandemic, we’re compelled by individuals and organizations like FifthWall that are coming up with unique ways to lend a helping hand”.

“We want to give away as many policies as we can,” said Wright.

The promotion runs through July 4, 2020.  For more information, visit https://www.fifthwallsolutions.com/buyonegiftone
