Today we sat down with Dan McGovern to talk shop about what makes him tick. Here’s the juicy scoop!

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

Helping people solve their credit card processing needs, and also the smell of bacon.

How do you contribute to the customer experience for Pineapple Payments customers?

I think that all customers are looking for someone that relates to them and has their concerns in mind (and doesn’t treat them like just a number!) – Above all else, I like to understand and build relationships with my customers to create a healthy working relationship, I have to understand how their business operates and how we interject into the equation! Also, as our business relationship evolves, I will need to have an open dialogue with each customer to fine tune their acceptance policies as new technologies/trends emerge over the course of our working relationship – I take a hands on approach and work tirelessly to make sure that a customer is completely comfortable and at-ease with the solutions we present to operate their business.

What is the most satisfying part of your work?

Whenever I am able to make my customer’s job easier, while at the same time helping them save meaningful $ on a monthly basis is what makes me sleep good at night.

How would you describe your job to a child?

I work with stores and use secret magic to help them swipe (or dip) credit cards.

Creative, Devoted, Personable

What are your hobbies?

I love sports, specifically anything to do with Pittsburgh. Also I watch more TV/Netflix than a normal person should. Also “family time” is something that I look forward to after I return home from work every day!

What is your primary desk accessory or trinket?

I have a small desk fan that I use pretty much on a daily basis. Other than that I have a desk calendar of my kids!

How do you like your pineapple?

Grilled! Or as a Dole Whip (Google it!)
