Pineapple Payments Partners with OntoGolf To Bring Enhanced Payments Functionality

PITTSBURGH – January 23, 2020 – Pineapple Payments, a rapidly growing payments technology company based out of Pittsburgh, announced its newest strategic partnership with OntoGolf, a golf-centric POS & technology company based out of Atlanta, GA.

OntoGolf specializes in ball management systems and lesson management software for golf courses and ranges, both at the clubhouse, as well as directly on ball dispenser units. Its existing relationship with golf technology leader, Range Servant, and OntoGolf’s proprietary Point-of-Sale software provides PGA/LPGA professions with solutions to streamline their key administrative tasks – including registration, scheduling, and payments. The introduction of Pineapple Payments as a partner adds more robust payment technology to OntoGolf’s Point-of-Sale offering, driving new opportunities for revenue.

Pineapple Payments CEO and accomplished entrepreneur, Brian Shanahan, also owns Cool Springs Sports Complex, a two-story driving range and sports complex located in Pittsburgh’s South Hills and recognized by the Golf Range Association of America (GRAA) as a top 50 Standalone Facility in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. During the process of bringing in new range ball machines to Cool Springs, Shanahan sought for a solution that integrated credit card processing. It was at that time that he was introduced to OntoGolf. Shanahan immediately began implementing OntoGolf’s technology and it didn’t take long to uncover the value in a potential partnership.

“It just makes sense to work together. Pineapple’s services align perfectly with OntoGolf’s revenue-generating model,” Shanahan said. “Our vision, to make commerce easy and accessible in a variety of different markets, happens through powerful collaborations. By combining our experience in payments, with their expertise in golf technology, we’re able to support a stronger Point-of-Sale offering and target industries we hadn’t been able to previously.”

The partnership positions Pineapple Payments as OntoGolf’s preferred payments processor, acting as a strategic asset in OntoGolf’s development and supporting their growing client base with payments guidance, concierge, and expertise.

“Integrating Pineapple’s platform enhances our Point-of-Sale and Self-Serve Range offerings for our clients, while aligning ourselves a long-term technology partner that shares the same vision and spirit of innovation that OntoGolf was founded on,” said Hormuz Minina, Founder of OntoGolf.
