We have taken time to listen and understand, and we know silence is not an option. This moment calls upon all of us to speak up and take a stand against social inequality and racial injustice.
We stand with and support the Black Lives Matter movement. We share in the outrage and we continue to grieve over the injustice that led to the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many other Black lives. We stand in solidarity in the fight against systemic racism and violence. We stand for inclusion and we are motivated by the diverse members and merchants in our community who are creating positive change and advocating against racial injustice.
Hate and discrimination have no place at Pineapple Payments. Although we may be “just” your payments technology provider, our company is made up of real people who care deeply. We have provided our staff with resources and prioritized the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our employees as we recognize the feelings of distress many of us are experiencing. We strive to create and maintain a work environment in which everyone is treated with dignity, decency, and acceptance through company policies and our welcoming culture. While inclusivity and impact have been a part of our core values at Pineapple Payments, we know we must do more to create diversity and foster inclusivity.
We understand how important it is to put meaningful action behind our words, so we will begin by making donations to support positive change beyond our own company policies. Over the past week, our employees helped us choose organizations focused on racial justice, reform, and public service on a local and nationwide platform. We will be donating to YWCA Greater Pittsburgh, Color of Change, and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.
We challenge ourselves to become better allies. We draw inspiration from the heightened activism around the world, proving there is always hope in hardship.
